Mar-marriott-starwood
We thought it was a done-deal in 2015 when Marriott said it was buying Starwood, but in March, a counterbid was made a consortium led by Angbang Insurance.
The move led to Marriott revising its offer twice before Angbag Insurance Group dropped its bid in April.
The merger finally completed in September with Marriott paying $13.6bn for Starwood and creating a company with 5,700 properties.
