Ruth Hansom, a commis chef at The Ritz, made history in October after becoming the first female chef to win the Young National Chef of the Year title.
Hansom, who won in her fourth year of competing, was amazed at her win, but said it was the first time in entering she had been 'really happy' with her cooking.
It was also a great month for her employer as The Ritz was awarded its first Michelin star with the release of the 2017 UK and Ireland guide.
