SACO The Serviced Apartment Company has appointed a leadership team to oversee and spearhead the growth of its new aparthotel brand Locke.

The company's first site under the lifestyle-led brand is due to open on Leman Street in Aldgate in October and will be overseen by Ashley Ely as general manager.

Ely, who joins from the Zetter Hotel in London, will lead a team of 35 at the new 168-unit aparthotel.

He will be joined by Samantha Sheridan who has been appointed commercial manager. In her role Sheridan, who has 15 years' experience in the industry, the last five of which were at CitizenM, will help launch Leman Locke and be instrumental in growing the brand.

SACO Property Group managing director Eric Jafari said: “Hospitality concepts such as ours are only as good as its people. Identifying and attracting individuals that understand the vision for what we are seeking to accomplish is never an easy task.  I am excited that these two individuals have chosen to join the Locke / SACO family to help create a unique experience – one that we believe doesn’t currently exist.

“Both Ashley and Samantha have a wealth of experience which we believe will be instrumental in the run-up to the launch of Leman Locke in October and in positioning the Locke brand for the future. I see Ashley and Sam as an integral part of helping forge the Locke team – identifying like-minded passionate and hard-working individuals.”

Bristol-based SACO announced plans to launch Locke - 'an enhanced new concept' designed to meet the needs of the modern traveller - earlier this year.

The company plans to target further key cities in the UK and Europe for expansion of the brand from next year.
