Dishoom says it remains on the lookout for new restaurant sites after profits more than doubled last year.

Recent filings on Companies House show pre-tax profits at the Indian restaurant group rose to £2.28m in the 52 weeks to 30 December 2018, up from £870,000 in 2017.

Turnover increased 26% to £44.98m.

During the year Dishoom opened its first Manchester restaurant and says it will “continue to look for other opportunities”.

The group has a total of five London sites as well as one in Edinburgh.

Dishoom is planning to refurbish and expand its original Covent Garden restaurant, which opened in 2010, after acquiring the former Jamie’s Italian site next door.

Further details will be announced later this year, but the team say they are planning a more "ambitious" design.
